FitTip of the Day: 80/20 Rule

Stop trying to be perfect! Do what you’re supposed to do – eating right, working out, mental rejuvenation – 80% of the time, and allow yourself 20% slack.

This is not an original idea – it’s a variation of the Pareto principle, and applied to health and fitness in the book Body for Life for Woman by Dr. Pamela Peeke.  Basically we are human, and we will only fail if we strive for 100% perfection.  So stop giving it your all or nothing, and strive for doing your best, and cut yourself some slack when you need to.
