Great Story on the Ickies of Running

June 13, 2011

As so many of my friends train for half marathons, and even a few dare to brave a full marathon, there’s that part of me that says, “Maybe I should give that a try!” Never mind that I have never been a runner. So I had a chuckle or two as I read this article from Lacy Hansen on The Dirty Side of Running Long Distance.

This may just be enough to keep me from setting my sights on a true long-distance running event!

Do any of you have any icky stories to share about long distance running? You can post anonymously, I won’t tell! 🙂

In all honesty, this probably isn’t enough to keep me from trying something new. I’m a mom. I know Dirty.

Ick! Also, be careful. If you have never run before, it is really bad on your body. I made it to week 5 before I hurt myself so badly I couldn’t walk without a limp for 3 months. No more for me. Thx for the laugh too. Plus, there are lots of runners who are not skinny. Just sayin’

I’ve noticed that, too! There’s a lot of truth in “This is how God made me,” because if you can run that much (read: lots of cardio!) and not be a stick, then there’s some gene work going on there!

Have something to say?
